If a 16 year old can swap in a JDM engine "easily" and then not know what set up he needs for a 20G......then hell has frozen over. Thats the most obsurd thing i've ever heard.

Sorry for my terminology, its a habit to me, a turbo eclipse is a gs-t to me...but no the engine is a fwd, and yes the only difference is the " cyclone intake " and my uncle who sold me the engine, it says " JDM 4G63T Cylcone Engine " I know im not a genius but i know that the engine i bought was a JDM, its FWD, and it has the 550 Yellow injectors on it.

Yellow top injectors are 510s, and an engine isn't front wheel, rear wheel, or any wheel drive.

You don't get it. He said it was a JDM engine at first, than he said it was a GS-T which is USDM, which is it?
See my above post on what constitutes FWD,AWD, etc. Its not the engine.

I'm assuming you're saying this engine came with a trans?

They do sell engines with the transmissions.

Thanks for the lesson, champ.

Watch how you phrase things, and you won't get the sarcastic smiley.:thumb:

Correct it came with a tranny, it came out of a running car in japan...might as well call it a front clip, it ran when it came out, ran when i got it...

Did you get a front clip? The VR4 Galants in Japan never came with FWD transmissions though.

You work where, EclipseOwner95? You are 16, you are in HS (unless you either dropped out or are Doogie Howser) and you make less than any of us. Yet you can afford a 95 Eclipse, insurance, engine, tranny, wiring harness, new exhaust, intercooler, ECU, crossmember, half-shafts, and assorted bits. I guess I need to ask for some tips on money and time management, as I have a hard time paying for my now broken Talon and the parts it needs to run, let alone an engine and tranny swap...

I work at TGI Fridays, a busser, make about 300 a week, i bought my car up front cash so i dont have a car payment, my insurance is 235 a month, so i have about 1000 dollars of spending money a month, nad yes i go to school im in 11th grade...the engine i bought came with everything accept the wiring harness and i purchased that for 60 dollars, and my next door neibor is a fabricator who helped me with the install and made my motor mounts and everything else i needed help with.

Yup. THere is no engine that will swap into any DSM that came from Japan with a FWD tranny bolted to it. The engines we get to swap it generally came from Galant VR4's with the occasional EVO 1-3 engine thrown in.

The engines are not drivetrain dependent. However the car is and hence cannot use the AWD tranny unless you added the drive shaft, the rear pumpkin, the entire rear suspension system, etc.

Therefore either:

a) You had to buy another FWD turbo transmission

or

b) You install an AWD tranny with no rear driveshaft which means you are about to blow it up

Pick one.

:thumb: That's what I'm talking about, it's all just B.S.

look kid just admit it, you're lying, and we'll call it a day.
or Privide us with the pics of the install, i'll even settle for the sales invoice of the engine, and tranny. or front clip if you say you have one.( besides why would you have to purchase a wiring harness if you basically bought a front clip? they come with one!)

Thanks for the interesting reading.

ya 300 a week is alot...but whatever that's not what is being disputed here. i want to see some damn pics of this thing. I mean I want to believe you but you haven't given us any proof that this is real. Next time before you come one here saying that you have done somethign like this get all your pics and everything ready so that you can show people right away. What you have done is almost like me saying i can run a 10.0 1/4 mile but i need to go to the track and get the timeslips cause i don't have them yet. show us some pics then we will all eat our words.

Pics, pics, pics..... I want to see this. I have a hard time buying that you did this my friend. I will need some proof. Please tell me more about the mounts and the mounting of the engine. How long did it take to weld it all up, did you just eyeball everything or did you measure it out? I need all the details. If you don't have pic's then just walk me through it. I have seen people try this with a shop and have to give up. There was only one person I know of that had done it and the car cought on fire. So I am really intrested to figure out how you did it right. What did you do about the down pipe, and the suspension? I want more details so I can do it too....

i find this very hard to believe that u did the swap. u dont sound like u kno enough about cars. to do this swap. u say u make 300 a week while working at fridays? thats amazing that u have enought time to goto school and pull down 300 a week. my cousin works at Fridays and he said bus boys dont make 300 a week working under 40 hours a week. i goto to college which is less class time then high school and i find it hard to work full time. every thing u have said so far seems to hold no truth. so why dont u have pics up yet it takes about 2 mins to scan a picture. take ur bs somewhere else. and stop lying ok:shhh:

i know that if i did something this amazing id take lots and lots of pictures and post them.. dont you guys agree?? why even come on here and bullshit us? he acts like we are as stupid as he is.. where is he now anyways? did he go back to his honda forums?

This guy is obviously bullshitting all of you.

I'm 17, im a senior in highschool. I work 2 jobs and dont bring in 300 dollars a week. As of right now im rebuild the engine in my car, replacing the clutch and the turbo, and porting the shit outta everything. You guys may not believe me so here are the pics, http://e-timmah.com/pita (inreverse order for some reason) and http://e-timmah.com/pics/workinprogress it is going very slow because of school and work all the time. It has probably been 2 months now and im only starting to put the engine back together. I am getting some great deals on parts though. 16g turbo $310, 2g mani $60, rebuild kit $300, clutch $125. God i cant wait till i have this thing running again. Its hard when u are doing this at home in your own garage without a lift, but we are managing. :D

That is how u should have posted your first post eclipseowner, then u should have asked your question and got on with it. All that is true btw.

Enjoy the rest of your fighting.

:talon: <-----purrrrrty

Did i mention i did all my porting with a dremel :D it is very possible and if you take a look at the pics i think i did quite well

I fixed crankwalk with a toothpick and half used box of Chiclets and a paper clip. I then made a ThermoNuclear device with what was left with some Coca Cola as a catalyst. No really. I have pics here somewhere.
