alright I have searched these forums and have read numerous posts and people saying to check for boost leaks, the ISC, and vacuum leaks. However, this problem might be different.... because I never have a surging problem, it just stalls out.

Okay, when I start up my car it runs great and idles consistently at around 1000 rpms with no problems. I drive around for awhile, the engine heats up great, and it idles fine at stop lights and stop signs (given I am there for under a minute).

The problem is when I go back to park it, I leave it running for 2 minutes because I dont have a turbo timer and within about a minute the idle drops real fast and it eventually stalls out pretty fast. It doesn't really surge though... when it dies, it dies.

Background on the car.... 2nd gen w/ 6 bolt swap. 14b ported turbo @ 18 psi. fidanza 8lb flywheel. 680cc injectors. act 2100 clutch. Straight exhuast - 3" downpipe and turboback, NO cat. chipped ECU. and the BOV is recirculated. there are other mods... but those are the only ones that I think could affect this problem.

I'd like to fix this because it bothers me that I can't let the car run for awhile to get the oil out of the turbo. Plus its just an annoyance... thanks.

Sorry about that - I reposted it because I felt I would get more responses in this thread. Won't happen again.

Also - yes, I know the flywheel is a pain.... but I don't think that would be the reason because it idles fine for about a minute and then just dies and the ISC doesnt even try to catch it.

Another weird thing I noticed today is that it wasnt stalling out at all when the engine was cold.... but once it warmed up is when it would stall at idle. It also stalled today when I was trying to parallel park, but I think that was because of the flywheel.

I just got this car last week, and am very new to DSMs, so I'm just trying to figure it out because I know its not good for my car.

Alright well today it was getting so annoying so I just turned up my BISSS just to see what would happen. The result was that the car would idle at 1200 RPMS but has NO fluctuation whatsoever... I let it run for about 6 minutes and it stayed constant, even after the car heated up to normal temperature. I'm pretty happy with the way it is running now, but I'm still skeptical and will keep an eye on it the next few days.

However, I know our cars are supposed to run at 750 RPMS at idle... so what do I risk damaging if I have my idle at 1200 RPMS? If nothing - I guess I'll just leave it the way it is.

Thanks.

There are specific procedures for adjusting the BISS screw, you can't just go and adjust it without relieving ECU's control of the ISC, your ISC has now lost its adjustment range (fully closed).
