Okay, I cant get the UICP off my 95 talon tsi fwd. It seems like it runs underneath the fuse box and theres no way to push or pull it off of the IC, i have no idea how to take it off and getting very aggervated. please help

also was wondering why the flexible uicp that conects to the throttle body is caked inside with oil :-(

There's a clamp right on the top of the IC that holds it on, take the wheel off the remove trhe plastic guard and you should have access.

There's Oil because the stock setup takes the blow-by from the head and puts it back into the intake (line that goes from the valve cover to the intake).

Unscew your passenger side fender liner to find the clamp that holds the UICP to the intercooler.

The stock UICP is screwed onto the chassis by 2 or 3 bolts under the fusebox. With a ratchet and a short extension, you should get it out.

I unbolted the fuse box, and looked and didnt see any bolts, are the bolts visable from the top of the engine bay? or are they hidden? Please help

Where exactly? Got a pic? Am I going to see te bolts looking from under the car or above in the engine bay? Also, how do I remove the coupling or whatever i think theres one between the IC and UICP i think thats whats stopping me..

So directly underneath the fusebox theres a bolt? No i cant see and felt around only feel the pipe, and cant move the fuse box out because of the wiring.

did you remove the clamp holding on the uicp and the ic itself? you have to at least turn the wheel if you dont want to take it off. then take off the plastic piece in the fender well. you will see the clamp right there. unscrew it and thats that part. the other part should be connected to the hose in between the uicp and the throttle body. that will just unscrew from a clamp as well :thumb:

Did all of that, still doesnt budge.....is there a certian way to get off the coupling?

The coupling is the metal thing that you unscrew to loosen right?
Well anyways I tried everything, i dont know what to do, took off the whole intake, unbolted the fuse box, checked under by where the IC, cant see no other bolts....if anyone has AIM, IM me it would help....iCeD OuT AnDYy

no prob. glad we could be of any help to you. thats whta the dsm community is good for :thumb: what did you end up doing right or wrong?

For future reference, they are 2 or 3 bolts that hold the upper intercooler pipe, they are to the right of the fuse box a lilttle hidden and they face the driver side of the car.

ya you are right but i dont think mine were on there the first time i took the uicp off so i just left it how it was. havent had any problems ever since so im guessing they are just for extra security and support.

Yeah that was the problem why it wouldnt come out, no one really actually mentioned it but then i saw it after making more room gutting everything possible to make it easier to see and remove. Thanks All for the help :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
