I just got my GSX back from the shop a week ago. Had the head gasket replaced by FFTEC. Now I'm having an issue with a high idle. When I start the car cold, it idles at 1000 like normal. Once it warms up, it gets to 800, also normal. At this point, I'll take it for a spin. I drive it hard for a mile, idle reaches 1000. After 2 miles it's up at 1500-1800 RPM. If I open up the hood and push on the throttle it will go back down to 800.

I've already cleaned out the throttle body really good. I've also driven the car about 200 miles so all computers should be reset since the time in the shop. I'm thinking of pulling out the bolt on the outside of the throttle a hair. Would this help? I don't want to screw anything up. What do you guys think this is?? Car runs flawlessly otherwise. :ohdamn:

Sounds like the throttle cable is too tight, therefore when your car gets to operating temperatures it's actually pulling the cable tight and causing your idle to be too high. There are a few adjustment screws by the throttle body you can use to adjust the slack I believe. It's been a while since I done this.

Welp I got it figured out. Ended up being the throttle cable. There is this little piece of metal that can move back and forth about an inch and it was adjusted to be too tight. If you adjust it too loose, the pedal will be floppy. But doing it just a little bit when something like this happens can make everything perrrfect.
