I have a 95 GS-T that likes to idle at 2 - 3k once the car warms up. This seems to get worse as the temperature outside increases.
I was told by a mechanic at my local Mitsu dealership that heat affects my throttle cable in such a way that my throttle is simply stuck open once the car gets up to normal operating tempertaure. If this is true, then do I simply need to adjust the nut on the throttle cable box on the firewall?
I have tried cleaning the thottle body out and have sprayed my throttle cables and throttle cable box with WD-40, with no lasting improvements.
The other thing I noticed is that the stock intercooler feels pretty warm to the touch (the lower endtank was really hot!!) when the car is having these idle problems. Could this be a heat soak-related problem?
Any suggestions you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
