ok guys another EGT question..

say 8-16% throttle at 3500 rpms in 5th gear i am getting 790-820*c EGT temps. my mods are in my profile. and i REALLY dont think im running lean. what should i log to see if im running so rich that i have a flame in my exhaust manifold?

also i belive i have a leaky injector on start up my car bogs and wont turn over for 2-3 trys. could this be one of the reasons why i am having high EGTs? i dont like the feeling of knowing if i go up a hill my EGTs spike 900* or if i go WOT from freeway speeds.

now that i think of it my tunning must be off somwhere i was doing what runs in the upper gears last night 4th-5th gear pulls to about 160mph and my car when at wide open throttle would bog but partial throttle it would pull?

someone PLEASE help!
 
that's pretty normal. for me at least.

may be the base timing is little low.
 
damn i hate it being so high. i cant even drive anywhere being comfortable. im worried my car is going to break.
 
It's normal to see the EGT temps around 740 when cruising about 65 mph on the freeway. Up around 75 mph my egt goes up to 780.
 
The part throttle sounds pretty normal for a 2g. Mine runs between 750 and 800 at normal cruising type speeds. When the EGR was disconnected you could add 25 to that (775 to 825). At WOT I've found that pretty much ANYTHING over 825 means that the car is at least holding timing. 850 plus and it's starting to pull timing back. So, unlike others that tune for 875 at the end of the 1320, I shoot for 825-850 max.
 
on a few WOT runs i have gotten up too 900 but i shut it down before i go over. when i ran my car in the 1/4 just into 4th i was at 900* but that was also on pump gas im not sure if that makes a diffrence. something like 12.8 @ 104. but i when i get my license back on monday ( long story short i forgot to go to court for an exhaust ticket and they yanked my license) i will go and do some WOT runs and some partial throttle and post them up. thanks for the info guys.
