i had a tow truck come for the car to move it to a friends house, And it wouldn't roll

forward. like if it was in gear. but it was in neutral , i moved the shifter around and

got in the car and held the clutch pedal down. and it still locked up, like if it was in

gear when the tow pulled forward. "" i could see the cams rotating as the car was

being dragged up the ramp"". what could cause this ? . also i just did a engine

swap. did i miss something ? i was thinking maybe the slave/ or the master . but

really don't know.. ALSO starter wont make attempt to start so i believe those two

issues are connected.. Thanks guys

Think about what you just said. Motor turns over but you have the clutch in. that points to clutch or related systems. As for not being in neutral, that points to the transmision. I would say you have two problems without actually seeing the car.

smart man pauly. i agree completely. that is why i stipulated to their being a

possible malfunction with my slave , solenoid or my master, perhaps my fluid.

or like you said any other components that coincide with the dis engagement of the

clutch , Since we both already know this! .What i am looking for is a more detailed

suggestions as to what may be the most likely cause. I'm not gonna get anywhere if

people just say EX: "check transmission" BROAD ANSWERS ARE MANY . Thanks for

understanding.

Well what have you actually checked? Movement of fork? Jacked up the car and spin wheels? slave functioning properly? Fluid? If you inspect the fork you can at least get a feel that the clutch should be disengaging or not. If you feel it should be based on fork movement then the clutch is likely broken. Tranny will have to come down. At that point you can inspect it and see if there is anything obvious.
Need some history here. Has the car driven recently? Previous damage? More info please.

Thanks P, I hadn't thought of the fork. .. HISTORY> i spun a rod, so i found a sully

built 6 bolt long block, i pulled the old 7 bolt engine with the transmission attached

, i then removed the transmission from the old engine attached it to the new engine

and put it back in the car. .. the car was able to roll when i pushed it forward after

that but, then when i connected everything back on to make her function she would

not roll. so im thinking i may have skipped a beat. i haven't yet tried because i

wanted to console with you all first to have a better idea of were to start.

But clutch and pressure plate are good so is trow out bearing.
