Headlight problem!

I recently tinted my taillights. When Ii tinted them I decided to replace the regular bulbs with brighter L.E.D. bulbs. Now besides the fast flash I'm getting on my turn signals, I keep blowing headlight bulbs. I have gone through two sets of bulbs in a week and a half. I know I can get the load equalizers to stop the fast flash but will they keep the headlights from blowing? Are the L.E.D.s making my headlights blow? If so why? I can deal with the fast flash.....just can't afford to keep purchasing headlight bulbs twice a week! Any help would be apperciated,Thanks!!

I don't know a whole lot about electrics and such but i know some basics


Lights blinking fast on most cars usually means you have a light out somewhere on that circuit

I.E. My right front turn signal is out, so when I turn on my turn signals to go right it blinks fast because of a unbalance or overload to the relay or something like that. so check for missing bulbs first. (not 100% sure thats your problem since you said you replaced it with L.E.D Bulbs)

Light Bulb's exploding usually means too much electricity or a unbalanced amount of electricity flowed into them. Are you running the correct Amps Fusses\Relays?

I have smoked tail lights w\ regular bulbs and they light up just fine. my recommendation to you would go back to regular bulbs. BUT it is your car, and you are welcome to decline my advice to you, my feelings will not be hurt, and I will not be calling you names for doing so or anything hah


This is all basic stuff because I don't know much on the subject but I am trying to help the best I can because I know how annoying it is.

Sorry about posting in the wrong forum! "blackmount".... thank you for any help or advice every little bit helps! i know why i have fast flash......L.E.D. take very little load to run them so they are working but the computer doesnt see that the is bulbs there thats why i have fast flash....thats also why i would need the load equalizers to even out the load and stop the fast flash! but thats not my problem,i can deal with the fast flash....what im trying to figure out is that the reason i'm blowing headlight bulbs? i had to put in L.E.D.s because i actually used the spray on lens tint and i think i got it just a little bit darker than what they should be but with the L.E.D.s they shine just great! but no any advice is very useful so thanks!

I wouldn't think your headlights and turns would have anything to do with each other are they not on separate fuses just make sure your not touching the bulb with bare hands in any way that will blow one fast

The two issues are completely unrelated.

Headlamps?
You should check your system voltage while the car is running to be sure the alternator is not putting out excessive voltage that could be frying the headlights. If you have a meter look for 13.2-13.8v with the engine running. It would extended spikes of maybe 18-20 volts to burn out headlamp bulbs.
Are you using stock headlamp bulbs or some high-wattage no name "Hyper-fantastics" that run hot and fail often on their own?

Hyper-flashing turn signals?
Either install load equalizing resistors or live with it. With some effort you can mod the flasher box on a 2G Eclipse to stop the hyper-flash. On a 2G Talon you just go buy a new "no-load" flasher at Autozone.

Usually means you need to change the bulb or there's some extra resistance somewhere in the circuit causing it to go faster
