I have been building my car forever and finally got in running and all the wiring done and my head leaks right out of the front corner by the #4 cylinder, i was thinking maybe i put the head gasket (cometic) upside down, could that make it do it? My car is at a shop they want me to get the head decked and get a whole new valve job but the head only has a few thousand miles on it you think its already got a bad surface the block got decked but i didnt think the head needed to, any input would be great thanks

Have you ever had your head resurfaced, you have to take all the valves out or it will cut the valves, so its pretty much necesarry to get the valve job when decking the head

ok in most places when you need to get you head resurfaced they usaually/most likely do everything. they dont cut the valves unless they are no good or bent. in his case the head just needs to be resurfaced. the job should cost between 150 -300 bucks depends where you go.

My head is leaking right out of the corner near the ps pump.... the head and the block were resurfaced too which makes it really weird... also, the gasket is a composite one, so no mls steel here. I did have a condition that may have caused the oil pressure to go really high, is there a possibility that this caused the hg to go right there at the corner? I'm thinking just a new hg and retorquing the head might fix it, I'm not sure if it was leaking before I had that high oil pressure problem. Any ideas anyone?

Ok look guy im not a complete idiot i know the difference between a head and a valve cover gasket, and its not leaking oil its leaking water, and i was told that the valves on our cars are down lower than hondas so if they deck it with the valves in it it will cut the valves, not for sure but my performance shop mechanic told me that.
