My GSX recently blew a head gasket, had an OE composite gasket and OE studs.

I was going to put a MLS gasket in, so I did some reading here on the forum, and I'm now more confused then ever.

I'm running an HX35 on 29psi, I need a gasket that is up for the task, however my block isn't "decked" so I'm afraid it's going to give me issues.

The Head is machined and re-surfaced.ARP studs are going in.
A friend of mine is running a mitsu MLS and has had very good results. I've read ~350whp is the limit of the composite, but I was past that for awhile before it blew. Idk, just want some advise on what my best option would be.

Thanks

If your block isn't properly decked then yes, you will have problems with the MLS headgasket sealing. Heck, you could have both your head and block decked and still have sealing issues because of improper grain used to machine the two surfaces. I'm sure you've read that already somewhere on here but just reiterating how important it is to make sure both surfaces are properly machined for a MLS headgasket.
I have also read on here many user who boost up to 30psi with a composite headasket and they hold up fine as well but obviously a MLS will be way better. The thing with MLS headgaskets is they are more prone to popping if you get some decent knock. The composites are more forgiving but either way you're gonna want your tune to be pretty much perfect.

Okay, thank you both. I will buy a OE composite gasket and roll the dice. I just hope it holds the 500whp mark I'm shooting for.

Idk how much it actually helps, but you can always copper spray the OE composite for some added piece of mind. Some ppl swear by it haha
