Hard Start

I been having starting issues with my 96 gst. When it sits for a while i would have to crank the motor about 5 times just to get it started. Once i get on the road and the motor gets warmed up it would start up just fine. Any advice on what it could be?

Do you have the emissions removed? There's a solenoid that a lot of people remove that helps with cold starts, so you will have that problem that.

Also inspect your fuel pressure regulator located between the valve cover and the intake manifold near the timing cover. pull the vacuum hose off of the regulator and see if there is gas coming out of the regulator nipple while the car is running. It works even better if you can "splice" a small section of clear small engine fuel hose or something similar from the nipple to the end of the existing vacuum line. this sometimes will show a fuel leak from the diaphragm which is located inside of the fuel pressure regulator. Try not to remove the vacuum line from the regulator for more than a few seconds, as it raises fuel pressure at idle dramatically.

That's solenoid I was thinking of! I had a brain fart, its the FPR solenoid thats connected to that vacuum hose that a lot of people take out.

Is your Fast Idle Air Valve bypassed? This is what coolant is routed through your throttle body for. Let us know!

The previous owner never had the coolant lines connected to the ICV.
