Are BOV's useless with the 5lbs or 6lbs of boost that a hahn stage 1 turbo gives you? or could they still have some use?

i would think that that build up of pressureon the throttle body cant be good, so im sure the BOV would do good. it couldnt hurt.

im getting my car compression tested monday while they do my 90k tune up. What is the compression rate i want my car at to have the safe amount of boost?

i think normal compression is around 210, but your will probably be lower due to old age

ive been reading A LOT of forums about the star kit and the hahn kit. but after all that reading i still havent gotten any hard evidence of which kit is better? I just kinda feel like if im going to put down three thousand dollars i should get the best ya know? :dsm: my dsm deserves the best!

its all about what you want. the hahn kit has a faster spoolin 16g, while the star kit has the higher power capacity T3/T4.

Which kit is more durable and less harmful to my nearly stock 420a? the only things i will have upgraded by that time are the injectors, connecting rods, and a better fuel pump.

either kit is going to be hard on the engine. HAHN has awesome customer service, so if you need help you always got them to back on. STAR, from what I've heard, has no customer service. I'm getting the star kit. I just think its a better choice for my goals. Its a eternal battle between the 2 kits, and which is better. The bottom line is, which suits your goals more.

HRC has awesome customer service, and great instructions. But the STAR has better parts that come with it. If you have lots of experience with turbo's then I'd just go with the STAR.

i just got my car back. the results of the compression test are like this... which im very happy about by the way. 1st-180 2nd-185 3rd-180 4th-190. the tech was tellin me that my engine is in pretty much perfect shape and ready for a bolt-on. IT just worries me a little to put that kind of pressure on the engine. What kind of BOV comes with the STAR kit?

Generic Greddy BOV.

I have one fo the first generation STAR kits... worked well for me... but i found you need a lot of supporting mods if you really want to get your money's worth.

I ran 7psi, but never dynoed. Totalled that car, and decided to go standalone this time around before i bolt on this kit. I am doning a lot of custom upgrades, and currently building the bottom end now...

what kind of supporting mods are you talking about? did you have the stage 1 or stage 2 kit?

Main ones are...
MLS Headgasket
Injectors
Fuel pump
Some sort of tuning comp (I got a standalone)

HOw much was your standalone? i know it was spendy, so like what are some other good ones to invest in?

afc will tune ure fuel. I don't know much about the greddy e-manage but i am looking into it, it has a support feature which you can link up to a laptop

I'm running the Wintec3... costed me 3000usd installed... that's considered cheap. Great system, hard to learn on for sure. AEM has a more user friendly system... the tec3 is more for pros.

It was the best investment I made. Easiest way to max out your mods.

hey miami and RH, are you guys both runnin all motor? or do you got a turbo? WHen you get the info on the Greddy piece update me ! its sounds cool, i LOVE Greddy products.

I do not have a turbo..........yet :D

But i'm not decided on the fact (yes chris, i kno im indecisive :p ) I will have to make the decision EXTREMLY soon because summer projects are coming up & i have the money to mod soo decision will be made LOL. :D

EDIT: I'm at work now so i cant get a direct link. But go on 2gnt.com go to reviews and hit the letter G, the e-manage will come out.

I was running all motor till I blew the HG w/ the standalone. I was lean at top... lacking fuel pump upgrades. Now I want forced induction...
