I'm looking for some brake upgrades for my 2G Eclipse. But there is something I'm not sure about. I know it's questionable if I actually need this on my car, but let's please focus on the issue I'll explain below.

I live in Europe and in my country the only 2G sold here is the Eclipse GS, with a 4G63 non-turbo engine (not a 420A)
For most of the parts, the car is basicly the same like a GST (it's FWD) but just with the turbo ripped off and some other parts that are involved with more engine power, such as exhaust diameter, but also brakes..
Besides that they're as good as the same, also the reason why I could drop in a JDM 6-bolt block :thumb:

Anyway, on the front of our cars we have ventilated brake discs and all the rotors and kits available for a GST fit just fine without mods. But on the rear there is a difference.. As far as I know, both the GST and GSX came with ventilated discs at the rear aswell. Our cars didn't come with this.. we just have a normal brake disc at the back.

Now the problem is... what kind of brakes can I put at the rear? The Mitsubishi dealer doesn't know for sure, tuning shops don't know, nobody knows for sure. And they don't want to order a set, let me try, and take it back if it won't fit because they will never sell it again.
And since the Eclipse is a really rare care here, there is not really a thing such as a "DSM scene" with loads of people tuning their cars and have tons of knowledge, like here. There are litteraly only a hand full of turbo Eclipses driving around in my country, all with oem brakes at the back.

So now my question to you guys... what do you think about this? Will a rear brake kit for a GST/GSX fit my car? Do you think (or maybe even know) if it works or will I be throwing away money?

The solid rear rotor setup is more common here in the states as well. The only year that had a possibility of having rear vented rotors was the 95, and that was only for the AWD. So you will be able to use any off the shelf brake setup that is meant for the solid rear rotor cars. Which of course is the more common option on the rear.
