Was there any difference at all in 6 bolt crankshafts? Like auto vs manual.
Because i swapped an engine from a manual car into my auto car and now my tranny wont bolt up right.

There is a little nub that sticks out of the back of the torque converter that goes into the end of the crankshaft, and that nub is a little skinnier and longer than the hole in the crankshaft so it wont go on flush.

But on my other 6 bolt crank it fit like a glove. The hole is just as skinny and deep as the torque converter nub.

So the hole on the new 6 bolt crank is a little wider and more shallow than the old crank, but its still a 6 bolt so i dont know how it could be different!
Im confused! Please help.

P.s. Im POSITIVE the torque converter is all the way in the tranny.

The automatic cranks have a spacer pressed into the back of them for the torque converter. You need to swap that to the new crank.

Then it should bolt up flush? Becuase i physically measured that hole in the old crankshaft (like end of crank to bottom of hole) and it was mathematically deeper than the new one. Would just a spacer fix that?
