My friend has had his talon dropped (1g) on ebay coil overs 2 inches i belive since last year. Car rides a little ruff but looks good. He used the stock factory shocks and it held up. I hear people preaching against this sometimes but hey lets face it we all dont got 1200 to lower it properly so the alternative...ebay. I no it sounds bad ebay car parts haha but whats the risk factor i am placing my self in with them ,and how hard is it to do this?

Ignoring the the first part and cutting to the chase: How hard is it to replace shocks/struts?

Removing/replaceing nice cleaning unrusted suspension: about an hour. Two at a relaxed pace with a beer or two. Tools needed: jack, stands, spring compressor, 14 and 17mm sockets, small adustable wrech, fingernail brush.

Removing/replacing 15 year old stock suspension from a snow/salt state: Add about an hour for each nut. Tools needed: jack, stands, 14 and 17mm sockets, spring compressor, angle grinder, reciprocating saw, sledge hammer, torch, penetrating oil. You get the idea.

so your saying replace the suspension and drop it the right way? Or thats how long its goign to take me to take them out and swap the coils?

Sorry maybe i read it wrong.
Jeff

EDIT: Whats the cheapest way to drop my car 1.5 to 2 to get rid of the wheel gap? If this is answered i guess i am done. Key word is cheapest though.

Thanks alto guys you haven't let me down yet.

How much for decent shocks, and coil overs and where do you guys get yours for the nt fwd?

How hard of install is it for myself to do it. I got the motor down, never done suspension though.

Jeff

Laser4G63 has got you covered on the struts. The cheapest quality coilovers i've seen are from Diamond Star Sports (DSS) for $475 shipped to your door. There's also Ground Control coilovers for about $500. Just do a littler searching on those. But then you're going to need cast/camber plates which i have no idea what the cost on those would be.....

Ya those damn fudgies and when all the semi decent lookin cars come up here all the cops all over anyone with a exhaust its stupid.

But ya i think i will look into getting some suspension going on i also need strut and a sway bar but let the list of want to have dones begin. Thanks guys.
