1G Getting my 1994 Talon back after more than 10 years

Hi Everyone,

I moved to China in 2013 and put my car in storage. I moved back to the US in 2023. I am finally in a house with a two-car garage so I will soon be hiring transport from the storage facility in Watertown, Wisconsin to a suburb of Houston, Texas. I am not sure yet how I'll get it from the street to the garage bay, since the driveway has a moderately steep grade, but I'm sure I can flag down a neighbor for some help. My question for the group is: what do you recommend for getting this thing up and running again, aside from draining the old gasoline?

I really appreciate the help, and I hope to find a DSM shop in the area soon so I can tune this thing and hopefully drive it around when it cools off down here (at one point I got the R-12 refilled but I'm doubtful the A/C will blow cold after all these years).

It will likely need a fuel pump at a minimum. I would pull injectors and have them cleaned, fuel filter etc. Do what you like but ive had several sit for 7 8 years and I lubed up the cylinders, fresh plugs and I fired that sucker up. Immediately changed belts etc also. Sometimes befire first fire depending on if it looked cracked. It will smoke and complain for a bit. Every one ive done was a smoke show then clears up.

Thanks for the advice. The fuel pump was upgraded to the 190 Walbro one maybe like a year before I put it in storage. Do you still think that needs replacement? And then for belts, are you suggesting a full timing belt replacement before starting it up again?
