Full Pillar Gauge Pod from MachV ?s

I was hoping I could get some input from the DSM Community regarding their experiences with installing full pillar gauge pods. I fitted my 60mm Apex'i Boost gauge and it looks pretty good, although the bottom portion doesn't sit flush as the top does when you push the gauge back into the pod - probably since it doesn't have enough space inside to be perfect, oh well. Excited, I went and pulled the A-Pillar trim piece off the car and installed the new one only to find it didn't have the exact same shape and couldn't get it lined up correctly. Argh. It says to drill a 5/32" hole then run the plastic screws into it. I know it's easier to mount the g-pod to the existing pillar, but I'm pretty sure it won't look right...instruction page says it's possible to remove the exsisting pillar and replace it but since it doesn't run all the way down to the passenger-side window trim some cutting would be necessary. I don't care much about hacking up the stock piece as long as it works. One last thing: Sherwin-Williams Automotive has a color for the interior that closely matched stock(called Agate), but to paint the pillar will cost me roughly $60. I am not sure where to find the interior color for my car but I believe it is Dark Charcoal Grey. Maybe Chrysler dealer could tell me this? I am going to try that tomorrow. Anything you guys could tell me is appreciated...

Well I just ordered a Stewart Warner 1G Dual Gauge Full Pillar Pod that should be arriving any day. Between the SW model and the Pro Pods model, they are the only two I've been able to find which are supposedly a direct replacement for the 1G OEM pillar. I guess I'll be finding out shortly....

Mine is the ProPods one as well. I will find some good reversible way to mount this thing on the pillar and make it look right...I will try to get some pics up in the next couple of days.

I read the PDF instructions for installation; they are identical to the Pro Pods model I bought. I think it's safe to say both these companies must be buying from the same manufacturer. It's "possible" to mount the pillar as a full replacement without the stock one with "minor" modifications on some vehicles...not very specific, eh? It doesn't seem possible for our cars without looking too unnatural and having to hack up the stock piece. Also, that Dark Charcoal interior color is called "Agate"- I confirmed this with the dealer and was able to obtain the color from Sherwin-Williams automotive. Installation shall commence this weekend
