From N/T to Turbo...

haha! Yeah, it was the only way we could get it to work. No, the hood wont close. We were thinking of a hood scoop, unless someone else has a better idea.

The manifold was bought from a fellow dsm'er...sorry.

I say in total the cost was about $800...more or less. There were many things that could of been done differently. We had trouble when we tried cheapin out on a lot of things and Jose just had to have the new HKS bov I'm sure it could be done cheaper if you were to pick and choose your parts through ebay or the junkyard

It took us one about a week and a half, but thats because things went wrong and we had to find/order parts. If I had to do again, I would bet i could do in 2 days.

Well I think if you would have clocked the turbo any other way it would have worked , teh way you have it clocked is probably the worst position. I wouldn't chop up that nice carbon fiber hood, just clock the turbo and re-do the IC piping. Search on here or 2gnt or ebay for pics of how front mount piping is routed.

Yea man turboing the 420A is cake Ill post a pic of my old car ( hence the name ) in a alittle along with the old kit. It only ran for 3 hours becuase the turbo blew but man was it cool to see it actually work. 600 dollar kit I made

we tried positioning the housing in different ways, but the actuator is in the way of the good spots.

...i will try again though
