I have a built motor (profile is up to date)... I came into ownership of a fidanza flywheel and was wondering if i should replace the stock flywheel that the motor was balanced with for the fidanza. I am basically trying to find out if adding the fidanza after the motor was balanced would throw the balance off.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Fidanza is a good brand. What do you mean balanced. Pretty sure Fidanzas flywheel was balanced at the factory. Is it the same weight? Lighter flywheels pick up in Rpms faster, but you risk turning off the car when launching due to lack of momentum"weight"

He's referring to the balancing of the rotating assembly.
Im pretty darn sure it will throw off the balance of the assembly especially a fidanza flywheel. Fidanza's are like 8lbs and a stock one is 18lbs?
That is a 10lb difference.

Thanks for the fast replies... 97boostin you are right... I am talking about the balance of the rotating assembly. I figured that the addition of the light weight flywheel would unfortunately throw off the motor balance, which is why im not going to use the fidanza on the motor. Ill save it for the 16g motor build.

Thanks again,
-Scott

Actually, 4G63's are internally balanced, independently from the flywheel so installing a Fidanza or any other reputable aftermarket/lightweight flywheel is just fine and requires no re-balancing.
