*My 1st post so cut me some slack.

My problem is that there is a noise coming from the lower part of my engine. (We took a scope to the oil pan, the noise originates from there) The sound is something like a weak fluttering noise, and can only be heard up until about 3000rpms. (Noise could still be there I just can't hear it past 3k) I had my buddy's boss that works at Tuffy look at it, he said a bearing was going bad. He also said the only way to fix this was to replace the engine. Well my newbie brain has trouble comprehending this, being that the engine has less than 15k miles on it.

The noise started shortly after I replaced a leaking valve cover. I've only had this car for a few months so I'm still learning the in's and out's. Any good advice would be appreciated.

i know it says u have a 95 talon what kind of engine do u have in the car. could be alot of things but need to know the type of engine to help u out more. Dont drive the car for right now or try not to.

It says 95 Eagle Talon Tsi, so it has a 4g63. (FWD) I recently developed a bad wheel hub assembly so not driving it won't be a problem.

well i was looking for a 6 or 7 bolt answer to that question. If its 7bolt i would probably go with the thrustbearing is going up. A way to check is the crankwalk check which can be found on vfaq.com

Thanks for the advice but my baby's already taken a turn for the worst. This morning I decided to drive down and pick up my wheel hub assembly. "I won't drive it hard" I told myself, "it's only a couple miles." So while I was turning right, (in the right hand turn lane mind you) another car to the left of me decided that she deserved the lane I was in more than I did. In an effort to save my rear end (of the car) I decided that accelerating may be my best option. Keep in mind that this is at 4 in the am, and until this morning I wasn't entirely sure 4 even came twice a day. Either way, I wasn't thinking. The good news out of this story is that I saved my rear end !BOOM! the sh*t hit's the fan. The worst pop I've ever heard in my life comes from my engine bay. Well apparently my car decided that it no longer needed to rotate past 2k rpm's anymore.

Anyways I just thought I'd let everyone know. Since I've had the most stressed out week ever I just decided to start drinking, at 5am. So I'm good. I'll let you guys know when I find out what was causing that flutter. (Ya, the ticking's still there)
