How about a possible roped off section for WMDSM members only, a tent, food, and 20+ dsms at Martin this year?

We are trying guys and gals to make every event awesome and "big", especially when we are at events like Martin or Gingerman. You all need to remember though that the five of us 'leaders/organizers' can only do so much, it takes everyone actually doing what they say they are going to do and following through to make it a TRUE SUCCESS! The first official meet was huge, lets keep this going!!!

That being said we do not get a roped off section and we can not bring our own food. I guess thats ok b/c now we can support the track. But maybe we will sneak some pop in for everyone Oh and for people thinking techs are going to be assholes this year think again. I talked to the GM at martin and he told me that they are not bring back some of their techs b/c of there unfriendly behavior. So just make sure your car is legal guys.

The tech thing is music to my ear's because when i went with my friends they wernt very friendly and complained about my friends stock battery tie down not being good enough on his wrx.

Thats great news about the tech at martin because I have had friends of my come from out of state and so old b!tch said that they could not car because the battery was in the trunk but yet thats the way it came stock off the show room floor. We tried to tell her but she just bitched and would not let them race not one pass. :thumbdown

yea the tech were nazis last year against "import" guys. one guy with a civic wanted to run because he'd just finished putting a turbo on and all sorts of mods, the tech wouldnt let him go because his rear mounted battery tie downs werent thick enough, and then they said because theres no battery box. i mean, they said it could "fall out because there was no battery box" the guy got into the back of his civic and proved to the techs that it wouldnt move by kicking the hell out of it and it never budged, still didnt let him run.

the next car in line was this POS 69 nova, rusted to shit, about to fall apart, the guy's battery was sitting on the passenger seat floor pan held in place by a few zip ties, and they let him run.

The two techs I always delt with was the older lady with glasses,and the cross eyed guy with the mustache and they where never that shitty with me. It usually went like this:

(tech) What have you done to the car?
(me) intake and exhaust mods. " Kiss ass mode on"
(tech)Have you altered the ecu? while tugging on my battery and eyeballin inside.
(me) nope
(tech) How fast does it go?
(me) low 12's
(tech) Looking at my helmet ,giving me my numbers.
(me) Getting the hell out of there before they look any further. "kiss ass mode off"

The only time I cought hell is when I told them the car ran 11's. They warned me for not having a scattershield and having tennis shoes on. Hell once that fat bi*** busted the book out and read some rule that stated: "Street driven cars can not have no interior pieces removed from the car,and full rear exiting exhaust." Then she had the nerve to say gutting my car would make no change in performance and bla bla bla. Of course I was like "Yes mam your right,I never thought of it that way." As some ####ing chebby Nova just drove in fully tubbed and gutted right next to me. No matter who's tech'ing,the imports will always get sweated.

anyone else with an atmos dumped or external gate get stopped by the techs?

half the muscle cars there don't have anything but headers

Oh man, I hated that tech lady...Get this..Last year when i was there for the normal test/tune....I get out and pop the hood, and she starts asking these stupid questions..."you runnin a header??" I'm like , "um no, it has a turbocharger" (she's staring right at the turbo haha). Then she asks, "you on the bottle?" I'm like, "nope", then she says in haste "pop your trunk". Haha.."you got a helmet?" me- "nope, car has no traction, runs 14's" She didn't like that too well, and gave me some bullshit about not having a helmet..I was just like wtf..

Yea, I ran for the first time last fall, and the crazy biotch accused me three times of trying to hide a spray setup somewhere in my car... I told her multiple times that I wasnt, then she reached down and started tugging ( and i mean tugging) on my external boost control. Iwas like, "ummm theres no bottle and i dont think you should be pulling on my controller like that." SHe told me that if i lie to her and run anything below 14 she would kick me out immediately and ban me from Martin,... FOREVER. hahaha Steve if you run they will tear your shit up for that external waste and heads. I hate crazy biiiiiiches.

I've had all the different techs there and i've done all they have ask... scatter shield, battery tie downs (the battery is now bolted through the rear floor), rear mounted cut off switch, Oh and by the way "i've just change over the squishy rubber tubes for the metal tube" and the last time I went I was informed that the harnesses I am using are passed date for use.... SO I'll change those too out ..... I just want to race so sign the damn card and put some numbers on my car and leave me and my follow Import crew alone...... even when we dust your loud a$$ P.O.S. V8 just smile and get ready for the change it's here and now!

No dout Randy. I even wrote the GM asking if it could be moved back say 6 feet or so. I got no response.
I just try to get around it by cutting in the middle of the two, just missing the pole and running over the hose every time. The water box guy always looks at me crazy every time. :laugh: As the night goes on the water box's become so big there's nothing you can do but to grab the broom and push as much water away as possible. This year I will be sure to grab a 4 foot squeggy from work to bring up there. I think they'll get the hint.

I run a dump tube off my 2g o2 housing. I painted it black so she never noticed. I'm going to be running a different one this year and plan on painting it black again. The key is to not give them ammo to fire on you. She must not like the bling bling polished stainless o2 housings.
If anyone gets warned/banned about the dumps again walk the tech to the nearest v8 with shorty headers under the hood and ask them how come they still are able to run.

ive never been hassled by the techs with either my laser or the camaro, but ive never been to martin. i go to stanton, or ubly, ubly doesnt even realy tech the cars, but there big on wearin long pants and wearin a helmet if you dip a 13,
