I have scoured the internet for a pair of the factory 2g double din mounting ears. Does anyone have a spare set laying around that they could either take measurements of so I could make a set, or just sell to me. The junkyards by me are mostly a crapshoot.

Thanks,
Tony

Good luck. I searched about 10-15 cars before I found a pair. The Scoshe (sp?) kit for a talon at walmart has tabs that will work, not sure of the part #. Look it up in the fitment book for a talon, not a eclipse.

Thanks for the lead on Miller Imports. Unfortunately they don`t show any in their online store. I`ll drop a line by them tomorrow. Why did everyone throw these darn things away? I bought a 2g that someone had botched a single din into (big surprise.) I`ve checked with both Scosche and Metra and they both claim they do not make a double din install kit.

Good deal. Thanks a lot guys. Miller Imports is definitely a good contact to have around. I searched ebay for probably an hour or two haha.

Wow, I didn't know that it was a common problem. I think next time I have my radio out I'll draw out a some templates and scan them in full size so we can have them arrived.

HELL YEAH its a problem..... People throw them away and there not common aftermarket cause they come factory..
I used a license plate to cut mine from..LOL liteweight!

I believe that you don't find many of these at the junkyard because the yard will almost always pull the radio (and I'm assuming the brackets too). I hardly ever see radios in any of the cars at the junkyards around me and I am skeptical that there has been some mad run on the junkyard for OEM radios...

I guess I got lucky on both of mine then. My parts car had them and my 97 that I have has them. I guess I will make a template for people to grab and print off. I should have my radio out in the next few months. I have to get to the flasher module to hack it.:sneaky: It may not be perfect but it would be a start for someone looking for a bracket and can't find one.
