I know a lot of people have asked about fitment of evo wheels on a 2g, but I was wondering if anyone has had any complications with lowering and evo wheels. I have a set, and am looking at lowering my car 1.5 inches, and I am wanting to know if the tires rub the fenders over bumps or anything like that...

Will, why dont you just pick up the phone and call bud.. the evo wheels will work just fine.. i wouldnt go 1 1.5 inches on a drop... i would run some pro kits and call it good.. and if the fenders hit no bigge.. we have access to a fender roller..

if anybody has an evo rim without a tire could you weigh it up for me?

or does anybody know the weight?

I can't find it searching here or google.

To add to the thread, my wheels aren't evo wheels, but are the same spec, 17X8 38mm offset, they didn't rub at all on eiback sportlines, very slammed.. this was with 215/50/17 tires, when I put on 235/45/17 I hit both front fenders, but I rolled them out with the fender rolling tool.

Thanks for the replies guys... I am probably going to roll with some 235/45's on them for now... I am currently in search of another wheel due to a thief... and Nate, I will be back down in Charlotte on the weekend of the 14th for HIN.. I will deff. hit you up..

yeah I had looked there before, but under enkei, not mitsubishi... and since the other info there is wrong (it's a 17x8, not 7.5, and it's spun/cast, not just cast) I was skeptical to believe it when I did see.. that why I thought this guy might just have a rim he could weight up to settle it, but I ended up getting confirmation on the weight elsewhere... The weight listed there is correct, just the other info that is not.

Good to know... maybe you should shoot him an email so he can correct his tables? :thumb:

I have Evo 8 wheels and I'm lowered more than 1.5". Zero rub. Check my profile to see exactly jow low my car is.

I have them also. And I'm dropped roughly 2in with my suspension. I'm running 235/45/17 and it rubs on the fender liner in the front but that's probably because they're kinda soft. But other than that, I'm really happy with the rims compared to stock. You can look at my profile also to see how low my car is.:thumb:
