Right now we are doing an evo swap into my 2G GSX, we noticed that the cam angle sensor on my old engine is screwed into the intake cam. The evo intake cam dont have the hole for the screw and the evo cam angle sensor dont fit the stock gsx wiring (4 pins instead 3).

This is a true evo engine (yellow injectors, big evo3 turbo etc.) so i expect the cams to be a real improvemnt over my stock ones regarding the cam lift.

Is there any solution to be able to keep the evo cams????
Please help

The evo engine comes with a black top CAS, so you must do the 1g CAS rewire from the 2g wiring harness. RRE or vfaq has how to do this.

thanks, so it means that the evo engine dont has a crank angle sensor?

Ya a black top cam/crank angle sensor. It has to have one to run right. LOL. You just need to redo the harness from your 2g to accept the 1g cas.

Read the article and called RRE they told me that another option is to drill a hole in the evo intake cam, so i could use my 2g setup, of course i would have to switch the crank sensor to the evo engine.

I read also about appearing cel codes when going with the rewire option. I just heard that the evo cams have a different duration, are they such a improvement over the stock gsx cams, to be worth the hassle?

Its really up to you, I am switching my cams to hks anyways since they arent that big of a difference. It is nice having the ability to adjust the base timing with the 1g CAS though.
