electric/manual gauges

I'm looking into buying some aftermarket gauges sinc I'll be installing a new turbo soon (boost, egt). My question is what's the difference between manual and electric gauges. Is one more accurate than the other, is one easier to install, etc. I'd like to get all the info I can.
