Ebay Scammer -> Item #2457157424

So I purchased a big 16G turbo from this guy on Ebay. Dumb shit me should have known that $275 was too cheap for a 16G. And when his responses were short and never included quoted text, and when he wouldn't take paypal only a money order, and when he didn't end the auction once I said I'd take it, and when the bidders email addresses were protected so I couldn't see if he was scamming other people.

Ok yeah so the signs were all there and I'm a dumbass. But his ebay rating was good and he had recent positive feedback. Dunno what happened.

With that said, anyone know this guy?

Wish there was something I could do but i think I'm screwed. I don't even care about the money so much as I'm just pissed that this little shit is gonna get away scott free and I can't do a god damn thing about it.

So yeah, if anyone knows the guy or lives near independence, Mo, if you wouldn't mind heading over with a baseball bat or a tire iron and ####ing this guy up, I'd appreciate it :laugh:

Man I can't express this enough, ALWAYS ALWAYS pay with PayPal! They have gotten me out of about 3 "jams" (well scams ), its the best service. If someone doesn't want to use paypal then something is up, in my opinion. You said he didn't end the auction when you said you would take it - does that mean you wanted to end it early, or is it some type of special auction? It sounds like you didn't go through eBay...well there really isn't much you can do, except buy a $200 plane ticket to MO and beat some a$$ ! Well good luck getting your money back, I hope everything works out.

Yes, if he actually replies with this name, I'd attempt to contact AOL or Ebay, and have Ebay contact AOL also. AOL has billing information, true addresses and locations. You could also go down to your local police department, and they could get the information from AOL, and in turn contact his cities police and have him arrested.

i wonder if yuo culd even file a police report. As long as you have MO reciept and emails and keep ebay ad print all that stuff out. make a report. He stole from you. Me, heh, if i knew where he lived trust me it wouldnt be worth the trouble that i would cause him.

Thanks for the support guys, yeah I should really have known better than to send him a money order. I've just had such good luck buying online that I got a bit complacent, live and learn I guess.

I've already filed a complaint with ebay and I'll definite file another one with that internet fraud site, that's a great link thanks so much

I'm debating whether or not to try and call the local police, I've heard that there's really not much they can/will do about this sort of thing but I figure it's worth a call anyway to find out.

Anyway thanks again for all the advice, and be careful out there, I've learned if it smells like a scam it probably is!

Man people like this give people like me (wanting check or moneyorders) a bad name. I have lost $659.00 last year in one transaction. His name was like d4n1l and the company was supposibly triplexperformance. My sister has contacted the betterbusinessbearu and the police where he lives. They finally just got intouch with her last month as the case was at the bottom.
I really hope you have luck getting your money back, I know how it feels:thumbdown

Hey.. I just opened this thread and to my suprise... I live a few blocks away from the addy that you listed. I also know where 1600 noland rd is in Independence and from my memory, there isnt much there, but I think I will take a little drive there tomorrow. plus I am tempted to look in my phone book to find his number if you are interested.

Ive been scammed too often, and NO, BlueSprings PD are completely worthless!!! Trust me! But I hope that I can come up with something to help you out.

This means, we don't allow complaints and accusations to be made toward shops who have displayed weak customer service. If you want to help others choose a good shop to take their car to, then list all shops you've had good experiences with, not the ones you've had bad experiences with. If you've had a bad experience with a particular shop, then recommend better alternatives instead of complaining about your experience. Negative feedback tends to attract fraudulent accusations which can put undeserving shops out of business. Post the positive feedback, not the negative - it will be just as helpful for people trying to find a good shop.

Try to keep in mind guys, the reason we built this site was to help enthusiasts learn how to install parts themselves in the first place (as well as see which parts are available for DSMs). This site was never intended to be a research tool to find which shop has the best customer service. If it was, we'd have to focus all of our attention on that subject to insure that fraud is kept out of the equation, and that's something we don't have the resources for. We would like to help the consumer without harming the undeserving businesses.
