i wont be doing FMIC on my 2g. Hated dealing with overheating due to FMIC's blocking all the airflow to the radiator. A thin Heat Exchanger core does wonders to alleviate this, and you can get a full system off a 03/04 Cobra for about $150 (HE, Pump, Reservoir), and all youd need is the AWIC core.

I was able to drive (not sanely, btw) all the way up a large mountain in the middle of summer with my 03 Cobra without even a hint of overheating. DSM guy we were with, huge fmic, fans, ducting.....every 20min was slowing down to let the cooling system catch back up.

Still got the 03 Cobra? One of my favorite cars.

My FMIC is the length of the bumper about 6-7 inches tall (sits underneath the front crash bar, doesn't block the radiator at all.

Edit: Just ran into my first issue, swapped to the CX racing J-Pipe and it interferes with the wastegate actuator. If it was bent out 1 inch (towards radiator) it'd be a perfect fit.

I was thinking of going to an external waste gate anyhow. meh.

Nah sold it, payments sucked on it.

talking about 2g btw, where everyone covers the entire 2gb mouth with FMIC and get crappy airflow to the rad.

I never understood why people block their rads with giant FMICs, I think for the most part people are going for looks over function. It's not just relegated to the DSM world, tons of people do it with SRT4s, WRXs and Evos... Wherever there is boost there are people who go for the absolute largest FMIC with no regards to overall vehicle cooling (or boost loss for that matter).

I would just save up for the vr speed factory or punishment kit, both me and some friend have a mixure of the 2 and they look/fit really nice and also perform well.
