DSM Graveyard 274 camshafts

I have been running these camshafts for almost a year now and will give the the pro's and con's of them to help my fellow DSMer's on there cam upgrade.

First I would like to say that the camshafts impressed me alot. The powerband is roughly 4200RPM on up have took my car to 8000RPM and it didn't fall off. This was even with the EVO3 16G running 22 P.S.I and stock intake manifold.

As for the idle and lower RPM's that is a different story. It took me awhile to get the car to idle somewhat smooth but the duration of the camshaft is really agressive. I had to set it to around 1000-1100 RPM as it fluctuates my ISC is good and no boost leaks just the duration of the cams. I'm looking into getting some adjustable cam gears and adjusting the intake and exhaust cam's to try and dial in my idle better.

As for vaccum at idle I am roughly at 6 HG's which is the reasoning for the high idle setting. It stalls some times at idle when coming to a stop and my brake pedal has alot of pressure due to low vaccum. I'm hoping with the cam gears it will give me some of the vaccum back for this issue but more of a trial and error deal. Also I have a bucking from 1200 to roughly 2000 RPM when just light throttle cruising due to lack of vaccum as well.

My car is a daily driver and the cam is rather aggressive for this driving but if that doesn't bother you and you want a great mid/top end camshaft set-up you will enjoy these very much. I am upgrading my turbo and smim soon to get the potential these are capable of. Will be taking the car to a dyno when I am finished and will post results.

Just wanted to update you as I installed a JMF Race SMIM and it made a huge difference from mid to top end power. It really pulls hard and smooth. These cams really are a good investment for the drag racing guys. Just waiting for a 90 degree coupler so I can upgrade my turbo to really benefit my set-up
