Crossville,
i'm looking into getting a downpipe and was wondering if there was any way i can get one without a cat and also avoid getting a CEL from there being no 02 sensor? i know there some re-wiring thing you can do but i can't find it but i was also wondering if there was another way. thanks

Getting a downpipe that eliminates the cat doesn't eliminate your O2 sensor. The 2nd O2 sensor is housed in the cat-back portion of the exhaust. I have an Apex GT downpipe (ie. no cat) and the check engine light hasn't come on for me. I have heard that this varies from car to car though.

it came on with mine! i have an apexi n1 DP, and of course that means no cat. it took like 400 miles to come on, but it is on now! oh well, i plan on gettign a datalogger and clearing the code myself. but other than that, i am not sure what else you can safely do. you can always, just unlplug the light behind the guage cluster that runs the CEL.:thumb:

I dont know actuall, because i put the DP on within a few days of buying the car! but it seems to run great. but if it could run better when i cleared that code, that would be awsome. because i am pretty happy with it's running condition now!:thumb:

just take the 2nd o2 out of the exhaust stream... ( washers or cover it with tin-foil ) ive ran for 4 years on the tin foil method w/o a prob ( useing the same piece of foil :)
