Hi guys, I have just about finished my turbo build. There is about a 2' span in between my down pipe and cat to finish the exhaust should I just by and cheep turbo down pipe and cut and weld. Or is there a better way. I was looking at gst down pipes on ebay I think that they will do with a little modification. What are your thoughts on it. Thanks for the input.

UMMM sooo is there a 2"gap? Is that what your saying? If thats the case i would just cut a peice of pipe and then weld it in. if its something different at least get us a pic.

step 1) get rid of stock DP

step2) buy aftermarket CAT-delete DP for your GST [i run a JVT racing for my AWD)

step 3) cut the DP to fit with your CAT [suggest getting a 3" high flow CAT also) then reweld the flange to the DP to hook to CAT

Step 4) the excess material you cut off the DP you can weld flanges on either side to create the "straight pipe" so you can put that in after the cars inspected.

this is what i did all in all when i installed my DP. bought a 3" DP and a 3" high flow CAT. matched it all up and welded. used the excess DP material to create a custom straight pipe to install after inspections.

goodluck! let us know what you decide and how it goes

As Dark Kid mentioned, it's kinda of hard to make out what you're saying...
' = feet " = inches
You need to specify which one it really is.
Either way, you should be able to have any muffler shop cut and weld a piece in.

Sorry I will be a little more specific. It is not a stock down pipe I used a polished treadstone pipe that brings me below my motor but there is no flange on the end witch is no big deal I have a welder and I am quite capable.As for the cat I have a magnaflow high flow cat. The gap is about 2 feet between the two I was just wondering if the bend in the gst downpipe would clear my oil pan being that I have a 420a motor, if not i would take it to a shop and have them bend one. I want the flex section between the two, it's way to bumpy where I'm at to go straight pipe, and I dont want to stress the joints.

Yes i agree definatly take it to a shop if you can and have them finish the rest, but if you wanna do it your self, determine the angle of the bend, and just get a long enough peice of pipe and have a shop make the bend how you want it, and then cut it yourself to fit. Then weld in place. I basically created my own exhaust, all the way from the turbo to the muff. And i am damn pleased with my creativity.
