Do I Need A S-AFC???

Ok, I have a question about the S-AFC. I own a 99 Gs (n/t). I currently don't have any mods done to my engine other than cai. Would it be beneficial for me to buy an S-AFC and start tuning my fuel now or should I wait until after future mods (header, exhaust, udp...)? Does an n/t eclipse even need an S-AFC?
I have read a lot about the S-AFC in forums and stuff but I guess I haven't found anything pertaining to my question. Any help would be appreciated.

The S-AFC is not really needed on our cars. You can mess with the settings from -50 to +50 as far as fuel and airflow, but on our cars anything drastic will lead to the ECU advancing timing which can be dangerous. I have heard that you dont really want to change more than 10% in either direction ( -/+ ) just to be safe.

I personally have one, but I had it long before I knew that its not really beneficial to our cars than they are on others.

You CAN get one, and use it to VERY FINE tune after you have done everything else, but its not really worth the money im my opinion.

Yea, I wasn't expecting very big gains out of an n/t eclipse with limited mods. I just don't know very much about it other than it is used for fine tuning. I know a lot of turbo dsm’s have it and worship it from what I hear. I had just never seen an n/t with an S-AFC. Thanks for the info man.

there is absolutely no need to get one for the car, not at least till you do forced induction, thats why u have ur stock cpu for

ok im planning on going turbo by next february. i was thinking, 2gnt says you could get up to 8 horses from it. my question is should i get it now or wait untill i get the turbo?
