Ok, I just got through pulling my trans out and putting a new Spec stg 2 and Act flywheel in. While I had it out I put in a Phantom Grip in the trans. Here in lies my problem. I bought the lsd used and already installed into a dif for a good deal from someone going to AWD. I'm not sure what year of trans it came out of, but the dif appeared to be the same with the same bearings and such, and just took my ring gear and put it onto the new dif and installed it. Everything went back together great until I went to slide the axles back into the trans and just got a solid clunk. It appears that the inside diameter of the dif is about 1-2mm smaller than the axles. I have been searching and find out that 90-92 trans had a smaller axle. Can anyone tell me the diameter of the different axle shafts? Do you think I will have any problems running this dif and getting the smaller axles, as I really need to change mine anyway? Any info or help you have would be greatly appreciated!

I have been looking into new cv's, but all the sites I have been looking at list the cv's as being the same for all 90-94 fwd 5 spd's. Can anyone tell me if the difference in diameter between the big and small shaft? Also does anyone know if a 1.8 automatic cv input shaft is the same as a small input for 2.0 5 spd? I have some cv's laying around from my parts car and may go try and slide one in and see if they fit. If they do maybe I can combine the the shafts as a temporary fix. I just need something for now to be able to move the car into and out of the garage under its own power.
