I guess you are one of those people that don't read posts before replying... I stated that I'm only running 9 psi right now because I don't have the fuel to match the air.

Even the stock injectors will support 15psi just fine. 9psi will basically make your car slower than stock. So why upgrade the turbo at all?

When it comes to performance, what people generally want to know is how much boost you can hold at redline with an internal gate. And if you can run as low as 9psi, chances are that your high boost capability has been compromised.

Also the Big T-28 Killer uses the BIG 16G compressor wheel not the small... Get your facts straight...

I didn't specify big or small. And there are several different flavors of "big 16G" compressor wheels. The one on my turbo is different from the one on yours. It is bigger and lighter. If you want to get nitpicky (and it appears that you do), go all the way.

Well I don't want to run anything over 9 psi because I am trying to be safe... And belive me, my car is faster than it was before... The reason for upgrading the turbo is for the future... Soon I will have the fuel, and at that point I will turn it up... Oh and when I first got it on and I was fiddeling with my MBC it help 16 psi EASILY to redline...

I'm not talking 16psi. I'm talking 23psi.

With boost down as far as it would go (line straight from turbo outlet to wastegate), my FP big T28 would not go below 11psi. Holding 9psi to redline is something the old T25 could do without breaking a sweat. I figured 9psiwas just a typo for 19psi. I've finally got mine set to 15psi and am sooo happy so far. Of course it can hold 15psi to redline, and I have the low end torque that the T25 was giving me, plus a ton more top end since it actually holds 15psi to redline now.

Of course, my expectations are lower than a lot of people on this board. My Eclipse is just that daily driver and I was satisfied with the power when it was mostly stock. I've got a couple V8 Mustangs and a 2.3L Turbo Mustang to play with when I feel the need to get crushed into the back of a seat a little.

never had any experience with either but...

FP Big 28:
$950
$750 if youdont need to drive your car for a couple weeks because you have to send FP your T25

Evo III 16G (from SBR):
$569 turbo
$250 2G install kit
total: $819

I thought that might help.

Also, how about a 14b on a 2G? hows a 14b compared to these two? price will obviously lower. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jake

14b is the best deal for the price. 14b turbo and install will run you about $200-$250 total. You can then use that extra $500-$600 on other mods like fuel, logging, and tuning. Then you'll be kicking the crap out most of those other suckers who spent $800 just for the turbo, and now can't afford anymore mods. Also a 14b will hold all the boost you need until you get a respectable mod list.

I looked at both options my self. I mauled over the 16G vs. T28 long and hard. Want to know what I ended up going with? A 50Trim. Why because I knew that I would want to go faster and would end up buying that turbo anyways.

I was looking for something that was easy to install so the T28 was my choice. Honestly I bought the factory service manual and acctually relaxed and thought through the process and realized that it was not hard to install any turbo so I went with what I knew would give me the biggest power gain. I scrapped the whole internal gate, stock manifold deal all together and bought what I really wanted. Yeah I had to wait a little longer and buy stuff in pieces over a few months, but I'm a lot happier now that I did it that way.

I just need to finish up my Magnus SMIM tonight and get some HKS cams...

Being FWD and already having traction issues in 2nd @ 16 psi, I can't even imagine how bad it'd be with a 50 trim. If I was AWD, I would have gotten a 50 trim too.

You did the right thing brother. That's what I wished I would of done. I've been running a ported FP Big28 with supporting mods for awhile now, and love it. Its a great turbo and all, but it lacks in the topend dept somewhat. I also don't like having to run race gas to get the most out of the Big28. So... I'm now planning on purchaseing the FP green around Xmas time. I wished I would have went with the FP green to begin with, even though I have pulled on C5 vettes, SS Camaro's, and numerous mustangs with the FP Big28.

Yes.. I agree. But.. I like the idea, or capability of making alot more power with a 50 trim type turbo on pump gas. Maybe I didn't word it right earlier, sorry.
