well, i found lower controll arm ball joint, rear differential mount, alternator wheel nut, crankshaft bolt, and o2 sensor are all 22mm. and that isnt even going into the transmission yet.

not that it really matters

and yes i am bored.

i admit i have never taken an alternator apart or dropped the differential. the others i have touched. my brother and i did the alignment on my car, so i have had to tweak the lca's.

you know i was going through some of my junk last night and i found a tcu. i think it is for a stealth, but i can send it to you if you want to try it/compare it.

it isn't worth much to me except for its electronic parts so you can have it for free if you want to try it.

i also found a 1g ecu i didn't know i had. non-eprom. damn!

i am keeping the ecu! i might have a project that i need that for! but i will send you the tcu. like i said i think it is from a stealth, but you are welcome to try it.

there is a 50% chance i am going to the junkyard again tomorrow. i know i said i would get you stuff before, but this time all i have to get is an a/c compressor from a mitsu diamante and your isc from the same diamante. that will not take all of my 3 hours.

btw, last saturday i got a whole rear subframe for a nissan 200sx. and i got it out in 2 hours and even fit it into my civic!!

tight fit!!

Really thats awsome thats theres a bunch of dsms out there. Does anyone now of a forum out there though? oh and does anyone know which terminal i have to ground to set the ecu in base timing mode so i can finish this car and get it back on the road?

If you find a 4 bolt M/T rear end, grab it for me! :D
sorry, the only awd is an auto.
i am going tomorrow after all. i am going to skip the 20/30 road rally in des moines so i can get some things done at home and hit the junkyard.

mainly the TCU
thats all thats holding my car back from running:dsm:
SUCCESS! I grabbed you a TCU from a 1990 awd auto gsx. i wonder if that will work for you. i also got you an isc if you still need it. i grabbed a whole diamante throttle body because they look like a better setup than our turbo throttle bodies and have only one vacuum port on the top.

also, i grabbed the maf off of the diamante which should be identical to our 2G mafs. so GST-Spyder, i do have a spare now!

Well i got the car finished just in time i am on my way out to school right now stopped for the night and the car is running strong. This guy in a honda tried to play around thinking he could beat me so i gave a little bit of length and then blew passed his ass ROFL.

Good to hear! If you want to race a honda again, let me know! :p

Who: Any Car Guys Interested
When: Saturday September 27th at 12:00 Noon
Where: Clear Lake Central Park
What: SAUSAGE FEST, I mean Grilling Bratwursts/BSing/Bench Racing/Photo Ops

Saturday is the big Minneapolis Hot Import Night Car Show. What other way to get ready for the show than food? Come over to Central Park in beautiful Clear Lake and enjoy some delicious Johnsonville Brats! Take some group pictures in front of the gorgeous lake. Show off your ride to all the other car guys. I will be bringing my talon out to do just this.

HIN starts at 5:00 in Minneapolis and is exactly a 2hour: 3minute drive from Clear Lake (according to google maps). This means that we would have to leave Clear Lake by 3:00 to get to the Minneapolis Convention Center by just after 5:00.

Just bring yourself, your car [if desired], and a healthy appetite. If you do not want your best car going to the Twin Cities, you are welcome to park at my house and jump in your Carpool Vehicle there. Just for safety, I do not recommend taking anything appealing to thieves up to Minneapolis. The parking lots should be guarded just like they were last year, but that is not for sure and is not the best defense against theft.

I hope to see a few of you guys there!

Here are some google maps to help:

maybe next year when i get back but other than that on my way out of nebraska a state dick pulled me and my parents over and gave us 89 in a 75 speeding tickets. Since ive been here ive only seen a white 2g and a red 1g couldnt tell if either were turbo or not they were too far away to tell. this a small ass town its smaller than marshall town with more population.

lawls @ mustang boy!
It's a great car, it really is.

It's back to the DSM for now, but we'll see how long that lasts. I still have some minor oil leaks to attend to, but I'll just deal with those at MAP tomorrow before I dyno (I'm near the end, so I've got all day).

it depends.

do you want traction? yes=z
do you want cheap parts? yes=gst
do you want to go fast before modifications? yes=z
do you want to drive in winter? yes=gst
do you want cheap mods? yes=gst
do you want reliabilty? yes=z
do you want cheap replacement parts? yes=gst
do you want a back seat? yes=gst

both cars are awesome. both have advantages and disadvantages.

zs are really quick right off the factory floor and are a really nicely balanced road race car. dsms have almost limitless potential and your upgrades on a dsm will cost a fraction of what they will on a z.

plus, most shops will refuse to work on the electrical system on Zs, and a lot of the upgrades for it tie into the electrical. =like red said, Zs are fast "out of the box" but with the ease and potential a DSM carries with it, a DSM would be the better choice, its the poor mans tuner LOL. personally i love the 300zs, their look, style, speed, power, customization. but unless you have about 10k to drop into it on just labor since you have to take the engine out to do jut about anything past intakes, its going to be expensive unless you do it all at once on your own time.

they are reliable though. my friend nemo ran a 13 sec quarter mile with a melted piston. :D you can be sure he drove it home too.

personally i kinda think it is healthy to dabble with a few different cars and feel out their differences.

it really is your call, though. but you are asking mitsu entusiasts on a mitsu forum if you should rather get a nissan :p
