Compression Test results

Just got a used engine from a 98 gsx. only had 60,000 miles. did a dry compression test after running for a bit. results were 165-165-165-165. Planning to do a mildly rebuild the head with hks272/272s do preventative maintenance timing belt, Composite HG with L19s but do nothing on the bottom end. I will be running my hx35 with bolton bep.55 housing. Planning to run it with e85 at 30 psi. What do you guys think will the 7bolt handle it for awhile?

That is a vague statement. No one can give you an indefinite answer as every engine is different. But from my point of view, if you take care of the maintenance, and have a GOOD tune, I don't see why it won't hold it for atleast a little while.

Running 30psi on that turbo should net you a power level that a stock 7 bolt bottom end isn't going to like for very long. As stated, a good tune (and the quickest path possible to get there) is pretty important.

As I'm sure you already know, a compression test doesn't tell you how durable an engine is. Also, an engine with lower compression numbers can possibly even be healthier, due to differences in cams, compression ratio, variances in the testers, even differences in temperature and oil. -But your engine is probably pretty healthy since the numbers are all equal and fairly high. I'd probably still replace the oil pump with a new OEM unit just for extra insurance.
