ok im having some trouble bleeding my clutch i've done it a few times now and i can't get the clutch any stiffer. The peddle comes back out when pushed to the floor but wont let me put it in to gear. I've beend bleeding and bleeding four hours now, im not seeing any more air bubbles but the clutch still isn't stiff so if anyone has any idea on what might be wrong let me know.

Yea i would say bleeding it isnt your problem then, i had the same problem and bled the system, make sure my master and slave cylinders were good, checked the adjustment and the free play. so you still have a few more easy things you can do. Make sure theres no fluid leaking out of the slave or the master cylinder, the master cylinder usually leaks inside the car by the gas pedal they say. And you can then check the adjustment and free play, im pretty sure both of those are on www.vfaq.com and for my car none of those worked so i had to pull the trans. and it ended up my Throwout bearing was screwed up but it could be your clutch too. but i would go ahead and try the other things first and hope its one of those.

no its a stock clutch just put the motor back in after rebuild. I had just just bled the clutch before i took the motor out and it worked fine but now its not.

im gonna check those tings but how do you check the adjustmen and freeplay?

well usually the adjustment thing is only with a ACT clutch i think but theres no harm in trying it. heres the link http://mywebpages.comcast.net/njdsm2/clutch.html
OK and someone tell me if im wrong but i think all you have to do for free play is get down there looking at your master cylinder and start to push in your clutch pedal and there shouldnt be any more then 1/2" of free play when you start to push the pedal and when the master cylinder starts to go in. and heres a link for that http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=156805
but it seems like most people get this after installing there act clutch.
Also since you just put it back together i know some people have trouble with there clutch fork being to far towards the passenger side heres something that talks about that its at the very bottom of this page http://www.roadraceengineering.com/clutchandflywheeltech.htm
Look at all those and if not maybe someone else has another idea on what it could be.

ok the damn thing still wont engage i've bled the clutch for days now, theres no more airbubles, i've adjusted the freeplay and still nothing. The pedal feels like its good but its not stiff enough and wont let me put the car into gear. please anyone help!!!

If you went to all of those links that i gave you then I can't think of anything else you can do. Like i said, I bled the syetem, checked the master and slave cylinder and made sure they were good, and checked my freeplay and adjustment. After i did all that it still wouldn't work and when i turned my car on in gear with the clutch in it would roll forward at idle and wouldn't let me switch gears, is yours doing anything like that? Also my pedal did have some pressure to it but i could tell it wasn't as much as it usually was, but the pedal did come back up. Give some more information on exactly what its doing. I ended up pulling the transmission, but it wasnt as bad as what i thought even though it took a while. Maybe someone else will have another idea but thats all i know.

What your car did and what mine is doing sound exact. So i guess i will be pulling of the tranny tommorow.
