Clutch Damper??

Found clutch fluid (brake fluid) leaking at clutch damper, so bypassed the clutch damper, and ever since then, had low pedal pressure. Can anyone tell me what is a clutch damper and whats the purpose of it??? I also swapped out the master cylinder as well, so problem could exist at the new master cylinder... as for now, i'm clueless about the clutch damper...

the slave cylinder? mounted on the transmission? its what actuates the clutch

i belive on the 2gs they have a restriction valve if some sort to control the fluid pressure in order to make it easier to drive, you shouldn't have a low pedal by removing it.did you try adjusting the rod that connects the pedal to the master cylinder?

yeah, ive tried bleeding the whole system, and adjusting the rod on the master cylinder, and also replaced the slave cylinder, but i think the master cylinder is just defective, for some reason i always get the messed up ones... but as for the clutch damper, it is on a 2g and ive taken it off completely. So all it does is makes it drive easier???

yes, to the other question too, it is mounted on the transmission but before the slave cylinder...

oh ok im not familiar with that then. i also just replaced both the master and slave and had not 1 but 2 defective master cylinders.

you may also need to replace the fork and pivot ball..2 bad masters in a row seems unlikely

both started leaking after the first couple pumps of the pedal. third one was ok

So, bypassing the Damper (clutch FSU) actually helps give the pedal more pressure.

No. It's hydraulics. The "pressure" won't be changing anywhere. It may give slightly faster action. Maybe.

true! i belive it only makes the pedal come up bit slower. but it should not increase pressure in any way
