FYI, I had to do this in second gear as there were no available open roads at the time. Also, I let out of it around 7k for no apparent reason.

My mods are as follows: 1st gen motor, EVOIII big16 @ 15psi, 550cc injectors, SAFC, TT RX7 fuel pump (rewired), stock FPR, stock SMIC, 2.5" tubular O2 w/atmos dump, N1 DP, N1 catback, Injen intake, HRC upper and lower IC piping.

I did the log on 93 pump.

Now, my O2s look pretty good but the timing looks real crappy down low. I would think getting 17 max would be due to the stock SMIC. Any ideas how to improve my timing in the 3500-5000 range?

You went WOT right around 3500 rpms, the timing is spose to dip down to around 10 and then climb back up. I think it's looks pretty good...maybe richen it up just a touch.

Ok cool. I plan on adding another 1% or so to the SAFC and this time do it in 3rd. Would a nice FMIC help out that timing at all on the top end? Is 17* enough or should I shoot for 20+?

The only problem is you really can't tune for 2nd gear. Most people tune for 3rd gear and even 4th if your making that kind of power. The reason being as the load is different and your car is going to act differently. I rarely ever get knock in 2nd gear, but 3rd is a different story. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, I plan on doing a 3rd gear pull sometime today. We'll see what happens with that.
