We're planning to replace the rear speakers in our 1g Laser RS. Is there a way to remove the grills, or do you have to take off the panels?

Also, I saw a mention on here that not all 1g's have 6x9 rears. Since our rear grills are oval, and look to be 6x9, does that indicate that they are 6x9?

Thanks!

Dont put any speakers instead your old ones, make the rear trunk pannel, like the old one looks, you can cut from a peace of plywood, then cut the holes for the speakers and youre done ,im saiyng this because of a better quallity of sound :thumb:

The whole panel has to come out.

And they are most likely 6.5's or something, don't recall exactly. The cover is oval but once you get inside there the real bracket is round.

I put in 6x9's, took some rigging, but once the panel is on you can't tell at all. Added a box with 2x10's, and left the fronts stock. Run one amp for the rears and one for the subs. Sounds wonderful for what I need (I'm not trying to make the car vibrate as I cruise through the bario).
