cr is throwing this code 2wice

po170 - fuel trim bank one.

what is this and what is the fix ?

car seems to be boggin down horribly , to the point i can not go into boost .
the car is a 97 gsx bone stock.

please help....

My car had the same code. First what is the compression of each cylinder? check to see if you have a fuel leak. Next do a boost leak test to check to see if your leaking air somewhere. Also if your up to it open up you computer and see if its burnt in some spots .What was wrong with me car was I was crankwalking and my ECU was going out.

I hope this helps a bit..

A fuel trim code means the ECU was not able to adjust the amount of fuel to get a stoichiometric AFR of 14.7:1. During closed-loop operation, the ECU uses the output of the front O2 sensor as feedback to determine how much fuel needs to be added to or subtracted from the current amount to keep the AFR at 14.7:1. This AFR corresponds to a 0.5V output of the O2 sensor. The code can be caused by improper fuel pressure, a faulty injector, a major boost leak, or (perhaps most commonly) a failed O2 sensor, to name a few. There is a check for the O2 sensor in the Haynes manual, if you have one. The front sensor is the one of interest here.
