yeah i know i should do a search on this site and all but i just need a really quick answer to my question. should i have the cat or take it off on my 1.8l or should i just gut out the cat? will i lose or gain hp even if it is 1 or 2 horses i dont care i just want to know what would be better for a 1.8L

a free flowing exhaust is always better(meaning gutted) but in your case which is a nonturbo you might not even notice the power difference at all except for it being a little louder.....

While i'm not the environmentalist i really don't see any point running
w/out a cat unless your making BIG power. It's just reeks and can get
you in big trouble if you get pulled over. Plus you're more likely to get black
buildup on the bumper. Even when people have big turboes, the diffrence
between a high flow cat and a testpipe seems to be more in the head and
less on the dyno. I feel its in the same category as a "lightwieght" carbon
fiber hood or removing your seats but still having a system and all. Its just a gain that
could easily be made elsewhere w/out the tackiness. Being N/a it will probaly
get you a few at best.
