WTH!?! I don't get any extra per pay. When did that shit start? I figured the banks ate up all that money and so I never saw any of it.

Employers changed their withholding tables June 1st IIRC. The extra money per paycheck is actually just a refundable tax credit that is provided to everyone who receives a paycheck and makes under some number (250k?). So if your employer screws up then you'll catch it on your taxes at the end of the year. The point of the mandatory withholding changes was to get the money into the economy before q2 next year which is when the majority of personal income tax returns will come back and be spent.

Well I have good and bad news for you, good news they are talking about adding 2 billion more dollars, bad news your shark isn't going to make it. The car has to get 18 or less combined milage to qualify. Remember the whole point of the program is the gov is trying to save the planet from gas guzzling cars that contribute to "global warming" or is it cooling? I can't remember

Socialism is a different system than capitalism which assumes that all resources and the distribution of those resources results in a 0 sum. In other words if you take from the rich and give to the poor until everyone is equal then you will have the same resources that you had to start with or that you could have created otherwise. What socialism does not take into account well is the benefits of adding value through efficient processing and innovation driven by entrepeurial spirit. What you end up with in socialism is a huge opportunity cost laid as a burden across the entire society in order to raise up only a small section of the populace.

If you think that capitalism is only a mechanism for making the rich richer and the poor poorer then you are transferring a socialist ideal onto a system in which it does not fit. Capitalism assumes that there is not a condition of 0 sum and in fact it wouldn't work if that condition existed, it is not only possible but actually an integral dynamic in the capitalist system that by adding value to resources not only do the rich get richer but so do the poor. It may appear that the poor may become poorer because they may not keep pace with the rich but truly the conditions of all members of a capitalist society reside in a trend that provides a continuously better life for all involved.

We live in a society where you can buy a whole roasted chicken for one hour of minimum wage work. In my opinion that puts us all at a pretty high standard of living in general. If you want to get ahead in life then you need to work hard. Capitalism provides a mechanism for getting ahead. It is called hard work. I'm sorry to spring this truth on you but if you come from a family where one 40 hour a week job is considered working hard and you continue in that trend then you probably never will really get ahead but luckily for you other people have worked incredibly hard in order to secure for themselves a better future and have taken you for a ride up the ladder as well just by the virtue that you are part of this socitey. Awful nice of them isn't it.

Bravo then!!! I could not have said that better myself. Atleast there are still a few people that are not brainwashed by government schools and liberal colleges that plague our country. +1 Hard work in capitalism = success and wealth. Socialism = apathy and unemployment. Check into Europe's unemployment rate for the last couple of decades. When one realizes that all their hard work only goes to subsidizing those who suck in society the drive for excellence is killed and those countries become null and void. Ah yes and the next step after socialism isssss, communism, when things get so bad a "leader" needs to step in control everything, since society can no longer function on its own. Read history books.
