i was driving my car and then it just turned off when i looked under my hood the alternator belt came off .The car turns but will not run. i need to check the fuel pump and the ignition, but what else could it be?

Check 3 things: spark, fuel and timing. Why did your alternator belt come off? Was it old and broke or was a pulley lose? Give us some more details. To check spark, pull your plugs and ensure the spark plugs fire as you crank the engine. Check your timing by the timing marks. How much compression does each cylinder show?

i dont know when the best were last changed on the car and they dont looked old. I"ve had the car for about 3k miles I'm thinking they were loose
