I just finished up my drive train and put my car on the ground. I have my car in neutral and it won't move, it's rock back n forth kinda like it's gear. It also trys to spin the engine. The clutch is new and I put about 5miles on it with a different trans. What do u guys think? I have another trans I can put in it just sux cuz I just bought this trans LOL. All my mods are up to date in my spec list.

This would be my gsx that I'm having problems with.

I would say it sounds like somehow the clutch is engaging and connecting the engine and trans. Check to see if the clutch pedal can move the clutch fork back and forth. The pressure plate could always be too tight and keeping it all engaged.

If the car is in neutral, even if the clutch is engaged, the trans shouldn't be driving the engine. It sounds like either the shift linkage isn't adjusted properly, and the car isn't actually in neutral OR there's something going on inside the transmission and, again, the car isn't actually in neutral.

ya I agree with you. But the car is in neutral. I noticed it's hard to put it into any gear. When I had this trans apart it looked good inside. But I did notice that once the preload was applied I couldn't spin the trans. I hit up jacks trans about it and they said a tight trans is better than a loose one so I never paid any mind to that but idk

If the car is definitely in neutral and the trans is still trying to drive the engine, sounds like the syncros are assembled a bit tight... at any rate, if you are sure the car is in neutral and the trans is still trying to drive the engine, something's wrong. A "tight" transmission shouldn't be so heavily loaded on the syncros that the transmission turns the engine over when it's in neutral.

Trans is a 97 awd trans that was converted to fwd by jacks transmissions. I bought it off a guy who made 650whp in a gst with this trans I saw the dyno vids. When I got the trans he already had all the parts to swap it back to awd so all I did was assemble it back to its awd state. I put a 58 tooth ringear out of a 95 gsx with matching tcase

Yes I'm sure it's a 95 transfer case it came off the same trans I took the ringear from. Which is the trans my gsx came with. No I didnt switch the pinion because both trans had the same 15 tooth pinion. I still have the 57 tooth ringear but it is now in the 95 trans. The reason I put the 58 tooth was so if I were to break my t case the 91-96 ones are easier to find and also wanted to shorten the final drive slightly
