hey guys so just wanted to help out anyone that is having my problem. i have a 1997 eclipse gs-t and when i would drive it normally it would drive great. but when i would go under WOT (Wide Open Throttle), the car would jerk very badly. its not fuel cut, because fuel cut is a feeling like hitting a brick wall.:banghead: this problem felt like a boost leak of some sort. this problem was very annoying and did countless hours of research but failed. i did numerous boost leak test and there were no leaks, i changed the spark plugs, the spark plug wires, the coils, and still the same problem. i had a 20g turbo in it and put the old 14b back in and still same problem. i replaced the injectors and still same problem. i did compression tests and fuel pressure test and all was good. so if ANYONE is having a jerking problem with their car.....change the MAF sensor!!!! i had to learn this the hard way but a bad sensor will sometimes not flash up a check engine light. i know many other people have had this problem too so if your car is stock and jerking....check that MAF!!!!!

That's sort of odd since it being the MAF you would think the car would run like crap all the time, even during normal driving. When you did the turbo swap back to a 14b were you running any kind of fuel tuner? Maybe you had old settings for a 20g and it didn't get changed back when you installed the 14b. Maybe a reset of the ECU would of helped too.

With the car jerking under boost can be a number of things and it might be different for each person, but the best place to always start is a boost leak test.

I had a 2g MAF do the exact same thing to me when it failed. I had been logging with link, so it was a quick and painless diagnosis.

FYI: It was fine until I doused it with MAF cleaner. I think that stuff is more geared toward hot wire type airflow sensors.

yeah man the car ran perfectly fine. but only under boost would it jerk. i know that there are countless of factors involed in this problem. i just wanted to put out an option that can also affect the car, even when driving fine and with no check engine light
