ok. i think i have fuel cut. i try looking it up but it just seems like there are so many forums out there that i can't read all of them. so maybe someone who has had the same issue can help.

So i decided to go fast on 3rd gear on the expressway, went down to about 45mph and put it in 3rd. hauled it to about 6500rpm and switch to 4th and went all the way to about 7k rpm and then let the gas go and it just turned off on me. turned it back on and it would turn back off. so i pulled over and checked it out. everything seemed normal. turned it back on and still turned off. had to give it gas so it could stay on. it shook all the way going home. so i had to drive home which was about 20 miles away but all expressway. so it was bucking a lot until i drove on the expressway. once on the express way i had it on 5th gear around 3k rpm and it drove fine without any problems. but once i got off it , it started acting up again. the next day i took it to a mechanic who has fixed my car before and it drove good on highway but once again sucked when i had to switch gears in city. so he saw the air hose that was loose from where the turbo is connected to intake, tightened it. and it now at least stays on. but when he test drove it it did the same thing. idk what it could be. i am thinking boost leak somewhere . but could i have messed up my turbo or engine?? how would i know. its a 98 mitsubishi eclipse gst. running 15psi with upgraded fuel pump and injectors. replaced air filter and fuel filter. spark plugs and wires bought about 4 months ago. any advice would be appreciated.

LOL.. yeah thats what i think. but the mechanic thinks its the maf. so he is ordering a brand new one and is trying it out to see if it works. idk. but i will have to check myself. i just want her back. :(

yeah i know. i am not paying for the sensor he just wants to try it out. . if it starts working. will try to find it in a junkyard. or maybe just buy that new one. ok.. i will let him know about the coil. and see what happens thanks guys

ok. so the guy tried the mafs and it still acted the same. i asked if he checked the ic pipes clamps and he said yes. . he thinks its the map sensor and he is going to try that tomorrow. so idk whats up. but i am about to look that thing up. i am just getting really mad..

yeah i am going to pass by there myself and tighten those clamps up. hope thats it. but i have class today. so i wont post up what happens till later on. if anyone thinks it can be anything else don't hesitate to let me know. thanks guys.

yes.. it was a boost leak.. the lower hose for the fmic was loose. i had to tell them.. LOL. gets me mad. but just glad i got her back. going to buy a better fmic set since the one the guy put on looks home made. effing cheap scape!!! but yeah.. so how do i put this problem resolved...

i just aquired a 97 that sputtered we changed my plugs and wires and it got rid of the problem....previous owner said boost leak ha... i got on it to clear the engine and got it to about 115 when i lost power it was bucking and not doin much for moving forward when id floor the throttle let alone stall out everytime id start and have to hold throttle down to keep mine running....all in all took it to the shop pulled the plugs they were really fried did compressions test and i only was runnin on two cylinders.......mine idles fine with those two cylinders when the maf is unplugged and the filter is off......just a thought to check in to it now i have to find a motor for mine hopefully a good deal to haha

dam for real.. that sucks.. sorry to here that but i had changed my valve seals and i know that all my pistons work right... u should rebuild instead of new engine. just buy all the rods and pistons new.. maybe like $800 and a good brand
