ok i have a 95 eclipse gst. rebuild motor with upgraded 16g. i cant figure out why it wont blow off. ive checked every possible leak ive fixed all i could find and still no results. it was working fine before and now dont know? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What.. are you getting compressor surge 'quack'? I'm not seeing any mods in your profile... stock DSMs don't do the ricey hiss, if that's what you're trying to produce. Well, unless you do something utterly retarded like remove the recirc tube.

Compressor surge, check your vac lines, and if you have your wastegate actuation teed off it, cut that crap out and route wastegate boost reference from the compressor outlet elbow, like it's supposed to be.

I didn't want to assume, as his join date said he'd been around for a year. Should be long enough for anyone to read and find out what's neccessary to atmo-vent an aftermarket BOV (instead of the stock CBV), and learn why it really isn't worth the cost, unless you're going for some pretty major numbers and can't make do with a Karmann MAS (or just hate the design, like me :D).

If your CBV is not opening and you are getting audible compressor surge, make sure your vac lines are intact and un-broken. If you have an MBC, make sure it's installed properly. You can use a vac line fitting and apply pressure/vac to make sure the cylinder in the CBV will move properly, and eliminate part failure as a cause. Then track the vac line back to the manifold and make sure it's not torn or leaking. Then you can check to make sure that the nipple on the mani is unblocked. Beyond that, the charge recirculation system is exceedingly simple, and I don't think anything else would cause your CBV not to open, even if you can't HEAR it.

If it's the ricer hiss you want, you're going to have to shell out about $600 to do it properly, where it won't screw how the car runs. A MAF-T and GM MAS, new upper intercooler pipe to accomodate the blowthrough setup, an actual BOV instead of the stock CBV (which is open under vacuum, so running it atmo-vented would be a BAD IDEA), a new intake pipe and filter to remove the stock MAS, and a good chunk of time to do the install and set up the MAF-T unit. Some 2G guys are convinced that venting doesn't do anything to them. They are wrong, and a dyno will show it, along with the puffs of black pig-rich smoke out the back of the car from that lost air.

cars been sittin for about a year havent been on here since then. but i figured out the problem the blow off valve was messed up so went out and bought an aftermarket. ive been havin trouble since i bought the car. thank for the help anyways.
