Toronto,
Okay sorry for the long post but I'm really tired and my car has been giving me a lot of crap this past weekend and today especially so here is my problem that I PM'd one of my friends but decided to post to see if anyone could help me out.
Keep in mind I have the STAR TURBO Kit, only thing I"ve really added to it is a Greddy Type S, and Modern Performance 60mm TB, and SAFC 2
So I have the fuel pump it came with and the 12:1 FMU from vortec.
So here is my problem
Two days before I'm supposed to get tuned my tranny f*cks up, and I gotta replace that sh*t, Luckily I've got a spare motor and a brandnew tranny with it, so I used that, Axiom(the shop I go to when I need help or something down quickly) installs it, and I drive home saturday happy, until about 12miles backtowards olympia my car dies. Like it loses all ability to accelerate and it just shuts down. So I'm sitting on the side of the highway and the car won't start (it will crank but it won't start), Get it towed to Bruce titus, then towed to axiom on monday (today), Jun(mechanic) seemed to have fixed the problem and the car didn't die anymore and idle fine forever, so I'm like awesome, tune it while I have it here. So he starts , and I guess while he was doing it, the car died once or twice, but he could still tune and everything, Then it ran fine once he jiggle the positive battery terminal around a little (mainly cause the were loose but it seemed to do the trick).
Side note: while he was tuning I ran a baseline of 170whp and after he finished 185whp @7psi (with my 190cc stock injectors maxed out) however because the injectors are maxed out and overloading the duty cycle my car runs like crap and just now started throwing a CEL light (it didn't do this until after he tuned it) So I"m buying 440ccor 450cc injectors and get it back on the dyno.
So on my way home I made it all the way to olympia from lakewood (about 20-30miles) and then my car died again, so I got out and wiggled the terminals again waited 10secs and car would start up again. So I figured I'd changed the battery terminals to try to and fix the coroded and loose ones I had. Did that, and the problem still exsist, only now I can start the car if I just wait 10-30sec after it dies. And it doesn't help that the car runs so lean now either.
Any help for injector choice or how to fix this problem would be helpful, if I need to buy things, where to buy them would be really helpful?
Just doing some more research, and also after talking with a mitsubishi tech I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
Possibly if while they were installing the tranny they might have knocked the Crankshaft Posistion sensor loose or something like that. I took this from 2gnt.com
CKP or Crankshaft Position sensor: Hall-effect type element. It reads what position the crankhaft is in at any moment. The ECU uses this sensor to decide when to fire the spark plugs and fuel injectors.
The fact that the car might not be sparking right could explain why it dies off as I'm driving?????
Okay seriously now I'm going to bed, and when I awake I really really hope someone can help me with this problem and choose what type of injectors to buy.
I should be getting high impedence saturated injectors right?????
