I have a 96 GST only mods are intake and a 1G BOV. I did a boost leak test and i was leaking at my flange for my BOV so i fixed that. No other leaks found. I am stumped because my car will hit 14 psi for a second and then drops to 10 psi. I read fourms on this but didnt get any real answers. I just changed my plugs and gapped them to the appropriate space, changed oil, no shaft play in the turbo, and like i said i did a boost leak test and fixed my 1 leak. Can the T25 only hold 10-12psi?

thanks for all the advice i have heard many good things about the t-28. so its quick spool and holds up to 16, will it hold that to redline? and are you or anyone you know running this turbo¿ thanks

yes, it'll hold to redline. Though something to note, it is said to spool slightly faster than the 16g, but also slightly slower than a t25. After driving the car with a stock t25 for over 2 years and putting in the t28, I would say I noticed the difference in spool up time(a couple hundred rpms). It requires that you change your shift points, but that shouldn't be an issue

I also noticed it hold boost all the way through. :thumb:

I bought mine for easy install(i had to replace my first turbo once already so I knew what i was dealing with) and wasn't planning on doing any sort of insane boosting......yet. :D

T-25 will hold 14-16 psi till redline unless you have either a boost leak or an exhaust leak or something wrong with your boost controller. END of story.....tired of hearing that T-25 cant hold at least that till redline. I used to hit a 20+ boost spike with mine( which had no performance benefit)@ 4k.

I hate to burst your buble but on the 2g it will not hold 16psi to redline. the t25 is not even usefull after 16psi. even when my car was stock it wouldn't hold boost to redline. if our cars had lower compression than it could. Ive seen t25 hold boost on a 1g but not on a 2g. The t25 was not ment for top end power its low and mid range where it shines. Now the t28 will hold boost till redline but that a completely different turbo.

Hey, thanks alot for that 1st hand knowledge and experiance. Im not planning on anything insane just a couple more pounds. My goal is only to run mid 13's maybe 300 hp nuthing huge for awhile untill I have some money to play with. I also want the t28 bacaust of the fact that its easy to install haha.

I said it might not hold 16 to redline maybe 14 the least but not 12 or 10 those are out of the question...Ive had 2 eclipses that both held 15 to 16 to redline, along with the other 10-20 cars i meet up with every week(www.ladsm.com) that hold/held that to redline. Either way he should upgrade his turbo because the t-25 sucks. I recommend evo 16 g or bigger they are not much harder at all to install than a t-28.
