can you clean your turbo?

I'm buying a used 16g from a friend and i was wondering what can i use to clean it up a little bit? can i clean the internals without harming anything? its going to sit in my room until i get some 650 injectors. I searched and i could only find this turbo cleaning and it didn't help much.

get a couple of cans of brake clean and spray it off.

Think about it why would you want to clean the internals. They are constantly being cleaned on their own. The turbo get so hot it burns anything inside it dirt etc. Cleaning would be pointless at best you could somehow damge it.

Technically speaking, you can safely clean almost any part of a car...The question is WHY would you want to clean the inside of a turbo? As Matrixhunter said, they can take care of themselves in that department pretty well. But cleaning the outside is fine if you feel like making it pretty and shiny.

its just going to sit in my room for a while and i don't want the inside to get corroded or anything bad.

just keep all the passages closed off and covered, and dont forget to prime it when you finally put it on. other than that you'll be fine.
